Ben's bio
Photoshop Hall of Famer, Ben Willmore, has taught over 80,000 Photoshop users on five continents. His bestselling books, DVDs, and hit seminars have established Ben as one of America’s favorite Photoshop instructors, and he is often the top-rated speaker at design and photography conferences throughout the world. He writes for numerous digital imaging publications, including a monthly column for Photoshop User magazine, and his award-winning books have helped hundreds of thousands of design and photography professionals make the transition from blindly following step-by-step techniques, to “Ah-ha! I finally GET Photoshop!”
Ben's passion for photography developed before he could grow a beard or drive a car. His youthful desire to capture life on film started as a 12 year-old when he glued together a 110 camera out of a kit. Almost three decades passed while Ben established himself as a skilled graphic designer and world-renowned Photoshop guru. His yen for taking pictures simmered on the back burner, pushed aside by a demanding career but never forgotten. In early 2006 he radically transformed his life so that he could, finally, focus on what he had wanted to do almost his entire life. A beautiful home in the mountains of Colorado was traded for a 40 ft. touring bus, a houseful of possessions were swapped for camera gear, and with the open road before him, Ben aimed all of his intentions at building a new life behind the camera.
